Relic Cinema & Arts

Relic Cinema & Arts will enliven and strengthen the cultural fabric of Buena Park and the greater Uptown community by becoming Buena Park’s nonprofit home for independent, international, and repertory film. Relic will use film to preserve memories, champion unheard voices, and bring our neighbors together around a shared screen.

We achieve our mission through these objectives:

• Providing a high-quality, accessible theater experience in a neighborhood currently without one
• Programming independent, international, repertory, and documentary film alongside community-rooted arts events
• Educating and engaging audiences of all ages and backgrounds in the craft and history of film
• Creating a welcoming gathering space for all members of the Uptown community and broader Chicago
• Forming partnerships with local businesses and organizations
• Preserving the stories and cultural memory of Buena Park and Uptown as the neighborhood continues to change
